Peace Corps: Community Economic Development

Since April 2026 I have lived and worked in Matara, Cajamarca, Peru. My work follows three threads, and each one shapes how I'd teach back home.

Add 2 or 3 sentences about your community, your host organization, and how you work in Spanish.

Financial education

Teaching practical money skills to community members, in a language and context they can use right away.

  • What you teach: budgeting, saving, credit, record-keeping
  • Who you teach, and in what settings
  • A result you're proud of

Women's economic empowerment

Working alongside women who run or want to start income-generating projects, with a focus on savings, confidence, and decision-making.

  • The groups or projects you support
  • What changed for participants
  • A short story or quote, with permission

Youth entrepreneurship

Helping young people turn ideas into small business plans. This is the closest match to the classroom I want to lead: students learn by building something real.

  • The club, class, or school you work with
  • The projects students created
  • Skills students practiced
